In memory of Ciaran Mc Millan

It was with great shock and sadness that we learnt of the death of Ciaran Mc Millan on August 16th 2024. We offer our deepest condolences to Catherine, Meave, Bronagh, Patrick, extended family, neighbours and friends. Ciaran was a member of the Brighter Communities Worldwide “family” since the inception of the organisation.

He supported the organisation in many ways:

  • Through his team building skills preparing volunteers to travel to Kenya
  • Through his mountaineering skills leading many four peaks and mountain challenges to raise funds for our work in Kenya
  • Through his engineering and practical skills installing water tanks for communities in Londiani
  • Through his belief in people and how when they work together, positive change can happen.
  • Through his ability to listen, to understand and to share his wisdom.
  • Through his willingness to help whenever he could

Ciaran epitomised solidarity and togetherness – the essence of what Brighter Communities Worldwide is all about. His passion and commitment has left a lasting impact on the organisation, and across the communities we work with.

He was an incredible man who has left big shoes to fill.

He will never be forgotten.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
